The Southern District of the AAID has come together to create a hands-on implant course on live patients that is taught by some of your favorite educators at the AAID. These are your mentors who have been teaching you from the main stage and in live implant training courses for years. They will be instructing you over the shoulder in a 2:1 ratio to make sure that you apply all these incredible techniques correctly.
Now imagine that in addition to this, we get to have the benefit of Cory Glenn producing guides for some of these cases and Andy Burton and his team making PRF and ePRF so that you will recieve the ultimate live training experience.

Advanced Implant Immersion Course

PURPOSE
This is being done to benefit the Southern District of the AAID, the AAID foundation and a local orphanage in Puebla, Casa del Sol. All of the instructors involved will be donating their time so that 100% of the proceeds will go to these charitable entities.

This is the chance of a lifetime for you to make major strides in your implant journey and help your fellow man at the same time.

WHEN/SCHEDULE
July 22 and 27th are travel days.

Breakfast is always from 7 AM to 8 AM.

July 23-25-from 8AM to 10 PM we do live surgeries all day long with case reviews into the night (with breaks for lunch and dinner).

July 26 - Live surgeries from 8 to 5, case reviews from 5 to 7 and graduation dinner/celebration from 8 to 11.

DR. BRANDON ALLISON

Dr. Brandon Allison is a skilled general dentist with  years of experience, specializing in digital dentistry, implant placement, and comprehensive restorative treatments. He owns and practices at Northlake Dental in Mandeville, LA, alongside his family. Passionate about leveraging advanced technology, Dr. Allison has a background in computer science and a dedication to delivering high-quality dental care.

DR. TAREK ASSI
Dr. Assi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implatologists, a Diplomate of the International Dental Implant Association, a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Fellow of the Misch Implant Institute, and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University where he also finished a post-graduate AEGD residency. Dr. Assi, currently is a Co-Chairman at the Atlantic Coast Dental Research Clinic Oral Implantology program, a Faculty at the AAID Implant Maxi Course at Nova Southeastern University, a Faculty at the Misch Implant Institute, an Expert and Clinical instructor at DentalXP, and the founder of the Alpha Study Club. Dr. Assi has published several articles in Implant Dentistry and continues to lecture worldwide while maintaining his private practice in Coral Springs, Florida. Dr. Assi had participated as a faculty in advanced surgery live patient training at the University of Sarajevo in affiliation with DentalXP, and in Mexico in affiliation with the Misch institute. In addition, he continues to teach courses in Implant Dentistry with a big emphasis on Full Arch Implant Reconstruction and cutting-edge Digital workflows. Dr. Assi serves as an examiner for the American Academy of Implant Dentistry credentialing process for Fellow and Associate Fellow Exams, and as an editorial reviewer for the Journal of Oral Implantology. Believing in giving back to the community, Dr. Assi participates in dental missions nationally and overseas.

Dr. Frank A. Caputo, after earning his dental degree from Marquette University, went above and beyond by completing over 1000 hours of specialized continuing education in implant and restorative dentistry. His dedication paid off when he successfully passed the rigorous examinations administered by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Board of Oral Implantology and Implant Dentistry, solidifying his status as a board-certified implantologist. 

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Caputo actively contributes to the advancement of implantology by sharing his expertise with aspiring implantologists across the nation. He dedicates a portion of his time to conducting hands-on clinical training sessions, providing aspiring implantologists with valuable insights and practical experience.

Dr. Caputo’s commitment to education extends beyond his classroom. He serves as a co-director of the AAID Chicago Maxicourse. Additionally, he holds a position on the ABOI Board of Directors, demonstrating his dedication to the field and his willingness to contribute to its growth and development.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Caputo has a unique passion for sharing his knowledge and insights with the public. He hosts a podcast titled “The Stress of Smiles,” where he delves into various dental-related topics and offers valuable advice to individuals seeking to improve their oral health and overall well-being.
WALTER-CHITWOOD
DR. WALTER CHITWOOD
Dr. Walter Chitwood was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and of the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. His postgraduate training includes implant externships at the Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Rehabilitation in Clearwater, FL and the Misch International Implant Institute in Dearborn, MI.

Dr. Chitwood is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is a Fellow of several organizations including the American Society of Osseointegration, the Academy of Dentistry International, the Academy of Implants and Transplants, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the International College of Dentists. He is an Honored Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and has recently been inducted as a Fellow into the Academy for Sports Dentistry.

In addition to his private dental practice, he holds several teaching appointments, including, Assistant Professor- New York University- Langone and being a faculty member of the AAID MaxiCourses of Oregon and Rutgers University College of Dentistry and Adjunct Professor – Jacksonville University (MSD Comprehensive Oral Implantology Program). He is also the Tennessee Clinical Site Director for the JU Residency program, located at Golden Oak Sedation Dental and Implant Center.

He has served as the Athletic Dentist for Middle Tennessee State University since 1985.

Dr. Chitwood also speaks routinely at meetings on the state, national and international level. He lectures extensively on treatment planning, aseptic preparation technique, and all surgical aspects for implant dentistry both to doctors and staff members.

Dr. Chitwood has also held many offices in his career. He is a Past President of the American Board of Oral Implantology, Past President of the Southern District of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and is on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Academy of General Dentistry as well as the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He has also been selected as an editorial reviewer for the Journal of Oral Implantology, the official publication of the AAID.

Dr. Patel is a general dentist in private practice who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University of Chicago-School of Dentistry in 1993. He is among the first 30 clinicians worldwide to have received a Mastership in Dental Biometrics in 2009. He earned his Associate Fellows in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry in 2011. Dr. Jasmine Sung has developed a keen interest in dental implants, orofacial pain, and cosmetic dentistry. Since graduation, she has actively pursued excellence in her profession, gaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Implantology with Warwick University in England and completing a year-long surgical training program with Dr. Hilt Tatum, one of the pioneers of dental implant surgery, at the Tatum Institute in Birmingham, England. DR. MICHAEL WEHRLE
Founder and CEO Of the Wehrle Implant Immersion Course (WIIC)
Dr. Wehrle graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1989. He immediately took a GPR at Worcester City Hospital and the University of Massachusetts Hospital. This began his constant pursuit of dental excellence through continuing education and resulted in him becoming a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry while completing over 1000 hours of continuing education in both orthodontics and implants. Not only is Dr. Wehrle a member of the American Dental Association, American Orthodontic Society and Academy of General Dentistry, but he is also an Associate Fellow of the American Association of Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Wehrle founded the WIIC in 2014 as a way to train dentist in implantology and to fund his mission work in Puebla. The idea was to take the best technology from the United States, and bring it into Mexico, along with the best instructors from around the world to serve the needs of the people of Puebla by placing free implants in a professional and responsible fashion. It is important to know that since this is a ministry’s ALL the patients are restored to the same level as the patients in his own private practice.

Dr. Wehrle also believes that you must actually give back to and serve your fellow man. To this effect, he was a founding member of the BAM (Business as Mission) Center which houses the WIIC. The BAM Center serves the underprivileged of Puebla, Mexico through a water ministry, puppet evangelism ministry, micro-lending to business start-ups, orphanages and various construction projects. He also is the chairman of the Northeast Tarrant County Dental Clinic which serves underprivileged children in the Mid-Cities area between Dallas and Ft. Worth.
